Warning on Mud Flaps

This has been fairly typical of the comments on the Mud Flaps which MB still stubbornly will not redesign:

Iwan Nurjadin
I installed the mudflaps recently and my only complaint is that they are made of plastic (ABS) rather than rubber. We got almost a foot of snow here in DC and I almost tore the front mudflap of the fender when I was backing out my driveway. Snow had been accumulating and was becoming rock solid when it froze overnight. The snow was stuck between the front tire and the mudflap when I backed up the mudflap got caught in the snow and came off. Fortunately there was no screws attached to the fender (only metal clips which came off). MB should of used more flexible material as it hangs so low. Real rubber is more preferable. Hey its a SUV !! it should see some occasional rough terrain and the accesories should not handicap its capability.
